While
Star Tours: L’Aventure Continue continues construction in
Discoveryland at
Disneyland Park, let’s talk about the Starspeeder 1000 destinations themselves.
It’s already confirmed that Disneyland Paris
will have the Jakku scene based on Star Wars: The Force Awakens (Episode VII) from opening, inserted into its random sequence.
But just this weekend,
Disney announced Walt Disney Imagineering is already working on another update, for
Star Wars: Episode VIII.
During a D23: Destination D presentation today, Walt Disney Parks & Resorts Chairman Bob Chapek also shared that – for the first time – we are adding a new adventure to the Star Tours – the Adventures Continue attraction. Walt Disney Imagineering and Lucasfilm teams are currently in production to add an exciting new mission to the attraction based on elements from Star Wars Episode VIII.

No date was attached to its launch, but the
film is due for release in December 2017 — so there’s a good chance, after waiting 25 years for its first update, Disneyland Paris’
Star Tours will also receive a second, more minor update within a year!

The announcement came at the
Destination D event at Walt Disney World in Florida, where new concept art showing the resort’s new
Star Wars Land at night was also unveiled.
Now, come on — don’t
go all Chewbacca on us. Maybe we’ll get it someday.
Until then, we’ll have to sit and watch
Disneyland and
Disney’s Hollywood Studios being torn apart to bring in this enormous new expansion. Take a look at some particularly good before-and-after aerial photos of the Californian project
here.
The new 14-acre lands are to include two major attractions, allowing guests to “take control of the Millennium Falcon” and “an epic
Star Wars adventure that puts guests in the middle of a climactic battle between the First Order and the Resistance.”
If Disneyland Paris
were to one day receive this expansion, where would you like to see it go?
Discoveryland in
Disneyland Park, or
Walt Disney Studios Park?
